I am totally satisfied with this warm, soft, cuddly cap! This cap will be included in a box of clothes given as a shower gift for my daughter, who will have a baby boy this fall. 2 months along I'm pretty happy this was the biggest splurge in our baby purchases, and that we rearranged our budget for it (pricey car seat, secondhand baby clothes) rather than buying a cheaper car seat. Considering how long we'll use it, and that it's so highly rated for safety and ease of use, it made more sense than spending a lot elsewhere.

The pros:
-- Highly Rated by Consumer Reports
-- Very easy, even for this car seat newbie
-- LOVE the newborn insert for babies under 10 lbs, since most aftermarket car seat additions for floppy newborns compromise the safety of the seat.
-- The Adventure fabric is indeed more breathable than some others
-- It rocks smoothly! It's easier to put baby to sleep by rocking his car seat on the floor, than in the swing and so on.
-- Little One seems very comfortable in it. It's a preferred napping spot out of the car (just be very aware of the danger of loose straps if you do this; I keep him buckled, or fold the straps underneath, add a blanket, and then put him in the seat.
-- We've had no problems with his head flopping around (from the size of 8.5 lbs, 21")
-- Pops into the base easily, making it simpler to mount it in the middle rear seat

The cons:
-- He does get a little bit sweaty in the seat (even though we ordered Adventure, which Chicco's customer service had said is a more breathable fabric). We combat this with a burp rag flat behind his back for one thin layer of wicking, and with a cloth (cotton) diaper with a wool cover (no synthetics). I can't imagine how uncomfortable he'd be in disposable diapers in it.
-- The canopy does not pull up or down well
-- It's immensely annoying to have to push buttons on both sides of the handle, to move the handle
-- No slot to set it on a grocery cart. True that's not the safest spot for the car seat but it'd be nice to let parents choose. Sometimes I want to set him there for just a minute, when the cart is not moving and nobody is moving near it (like in the checkout line).
-- The additional safety features do make it heavy
-- The base is frequently out of stock so take care to get the spare well before you need it

Adequate neck support is necessary for young babies as their skeletal systems experience the majority of it's maturity in the beginning months. This product does not introduce additional slack into baby's harness, is not placed in between child and car seat, and does not force the chest buckle down to a height that would prove ineffective in a major crash. Side pillow support cushions are removed easily so harness strap pads can be used alone to prevent digging and chafing into baby's delicate skin.

I ordered this to replace my difficult to open Graco Chest Clip also sold by Amazon.

The Graco one (as I say in my review there) was very difficult to open to the point where I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my child out of her booster seat in an emergency.

This clip is straightforward to open and my one and a half year old daughter doesn't have the hand strength to open this style clip yet.

Great clip - easy operation. It's what I needed to get my child in and out of the car as many times as I do during the day.

I am 5'4" and I have been using this seat belt adjuster for myself for over 10 years, even in cars that have the shoulder-slider in the car to try to correct the angle. During those 10+ years of use, I've had a few minor accidents and one major one that totaled my car. Each time, the adjuster did not interfere with the proper operation of the seat belt. Some people report problems with the adjuster staying closed: the snaps are very stiff, which is a good thing. Once you put it on properly, the snaps will stay closed during daily use. You put it on near the buckle. One side snaps closed to contain the lap portion of the belt, and the other goes on the shoulder portion. Because of the strap connecting the two halves of the adjuster, the angle of the belt is narrowed as it leaves the buckle and you can correctly position the lower part over your hips and have the shoulder belt rest on your shoulder and not your neck. The belt may twist when you unbuckle and release it, so just check that it's smooth and untwisted before you buckle up again. After driving my car with it on, my 5'6" mom bought one, too.

I use this padded protector in my car (Volvo XC90) under Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite car seats. Works really well - car seats don't slide, they leave no indentation marks on the bottoms of leather seats however the back is not tall enough and there are two indentation marks in the leather seat. I wish someone invented a seat protector for a 3 point safety car seat.

We bought two of these car seat covers when we bought our new car seat and we have yet to have to clean our car seat after one year, it is literally clean as new. Purchased this as the 2nd base to put in our other car. Very happy with the KeyFit so far. Base is very easily installed using the LATCH system. My wife insisted on having it checked out by the local PD, and it was fine. Given that I am not mechanically inclined, the fact that I got it installed correctly in a few minutes shows how easy it is to use. Audible clicks when the seat locks into place are nice. The one item on the actual car seat that could be improved is the canopy. A bigger canopy with better coverage would be nice. We end up draping a towel or blanket over the handle for additional protection.

Ever hope that your child will take that nap on the way to visit the relatives, only to find them headbobbing the whole way and you arrive with a grumpy, tired child. This neck pillow is the answer. Stuffing blankets, animals, adult pillows between their little necks doesn't work. This product does!

This works with all standard car seat belts, and all brands of child car seats. YOU MUST HAVE THIS if you own an older car and have a lap/shoulder belt-mounted child car seat or car seat base! YOU DO NOT NEED THIS if you use the LATCH mounting system. In most older cars, with a combination lap/shoulder belt, regardless of what kind of retractor or locking mechanism the vehicle has, if you don't use a locking clip (or if you have one and attach it to the wrong part of the belt, as I did until someone explained it) and you have an accident--or even just brake hard or turn to try to avoid an accident--your car seat or car seat base will likely pull the slack out of the lap portion of the belt and will get additional slack from the belt that goes up to the shoulder mount. What this looks like is the seat tilts away from the side where the shoulder belt anchor is, and toward the front of the vehicle, producing a twisting motion which is dangerous to the child's back and neck. What you want is (assuming your car seat or base is already strapped in securely first) to lock the shoulder belt to the seat belt BETWEEN THE TWO LAP ANCHORS, rendering the shoulder part of the belt irrelevant, which also keeps that dangerous slack away from the lap belt. This is the best and simplest design for this clip...just a flat piece of metal cut in a shape that allows the middle of two flat webbing straps (seat belts, in this case) to be slid in from one side, with both belts getting tucked under the "ears" that stick out at both ends, and the middle bar staying on the other side of the belts. Most car seats are supplied with one of these (look underneath or on the back of the seat for the place where one would be stored when not in use). IF YOU DID NOT GET ONE OF THESE WITH YOUR CAR SEAT OR CAR SEAT BASE, THIS COULD BE THE BEST PURCHASE YOU EVER MADE. ** Also consider the Graco model sold on Amazon, nearly identical for less money.

In order to get the most life out of our BOB stroller we opted to purchase the adapter and hoped that it would work with our Britax Chaperone Infant car seat. I installed the adapter while seven months pregnant and it was no problem at all. The Chaperone fits very securely on the adapter and the stroller itself rolls smoothly on all terrain. The only minor problem I came across is the addition of the car seat makes the stroller top heavy and prone to tip over when lifting the front wheel to go over curbs, etc.

I used this on my 3 1/2 yr old daughter. She is a good traveler and experienced with flying. I had used her car seat previously, but due to a medical issue I couldn't carry her car seat on and deal with hooking it up. This CARES system was a wonderful addition.

Like the other reviews, I did have problems with her sliding down in the seat. I didn't have an issue with the chest piece getting close to her neck, but I also had it adjusted pretty low on her chest. She found it comfortable, it was easy to put on and take off.

For the flight home, I added a strap (webbing similar to what the CARES system used - 1 1/2 in wide and 3 ft long). I got simple sliding buckles at the same hardware store as the webbing, so no sewing was needed. I made a loop around the strap that goes around the seat back, right between the shoulder straps (held together with one sliding buckle). My added strap then went down behind my daughter and up between her legs. I made another loop in the strap (held with the other sliding buckle) that the seat belt slid through. So I had the seat belt passing through one CARES shoulder strap, my added strap between her legs, and then the second CARES shoulder strap - then buckled. This made a HUGE difference and she didn't slide down as badly. This would work well for a wiggly child too. All in all, it was about .50 in added parts, all from the local hardware store.

I will happily use the CARES seat belt until my daughter is too old/big for it. I felt much more comfortable with her belted in securely.
